Walk With Us

“Whoever says he follows Jesus, must walk in the same way in which He walked” 1 John 2:6".

INTRODUCTION: The purpose of our lives is to become disciples of Jesus. A disciple is simply a student, someone who follows another person. At St. John Bosco we want to help people walk with Jesus. We want everyone to become more like Jesus in their thoughts, words, actions, and especially in the way they love. We believe that becoming more like Jesus enables us to become the best version of ourselves. But this process takes time, which is why discipleship is about taking small progressive steps in our relationship with Jesus. It is a direction not a destination. We recognize that everyone is at a different stage in their relationship with God, and that is alright. We simply invite you to walk with us.

On this webpage you will find different steps you can take, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey.

Sunday Worship

“I will worship you, O Lord my God, with all my heart” Psalm 86:12.

We invite you to join us for Sunday Worship, or Mass every week at 10am. Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to believe before you belong, we just invite you to come as you are. We make Mass an engaging encounter with Christ through beautiful liturgies, calming prayer and uplifting music. We are also very family and child friendly, with children ministry, activities and instruments for them to play during the closing procession. It’s a lot of noise but a lot of fun. If you aren’t familiar with the Catholic Mass, don’t worry, we have you covered. There are sheets to help you follow along. Worship is a great first step. Let us welcome you to our parish family.

Awaken

"Awake, put on your strength" Isaiah 52:1

Awaken is a prayer program that helps you start your day off on the right foot. So often the first actions we take set the tone for the rest of the day. Therefore, the best way to begin any day is spending time with God in prayer. Awaken is daily email (Monday to Saturday) that includes a quick reading from the Bible, a short commentary and a simple prayer. It takes 2-5 minutes to complete but can make a huge impact in your life. Awaken with the Lord, start your day off right.

The 40 Steps Challenge

“Let us grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” 2 Peter 3:18.

The 40 Steps Challenge takes place once a year beginning in May. Every year there is a different theme that helps participants grow in their faith with Jesus. Past topics have included Developing Your Prayer Life, Discovering God’s Will and Journeying with the Saints. Throughout the course of the program participants will receive a daily email at 5am with a Bible passage, short reflection, and a prayer. One participant said, “Thanks for sharing these. Always a new inspiration each day!” Another remarked, “These emails have really helped me grow in my relationship with God and learn about my faith.”
